Plone should…

Improve user profiles to be more modern and social-friendly

Profiles in plone are currently rather unfriendly to social sites. On many sites, there's a great chance to use the profile for a little self promo, even if it isn't primarily a social site. But given how many people use plone for extranets, community sites, etc, it really needs to take a bit more of a web 2.0 approach.

Here's a couple suggestions (many more welcomed):
- Make the portrait picture bigger!
- Give a WYSIWYG editor for the bio
- Add some interactivity, like RSS feeds for the (a) all content by author or (b) content of a paricular type by author

The trouble is that we still don't have a site of sites as it were. What one really needs is a master social networking site which integrates your google account, your twitter feed, your facebook account, your linkedin account and so on. Then Plone simply plugs into that integration the same way.

I daresay it's only a matter of time before such a thing emerges. And about time too IMHO.
